Pros

Good benefits. Good work life balance. Caterpillar has surveys through which executives do get to hear what employees are thinking. Caterpillar has very good management training. All manager know how to communicate to their employees, what are the good practices to communicate. No manager looks in experienced.

Cons

Orthodox thinking. So if u work hard and do a job for a senior position you still will not be promoted because u have less expereince as compared to others who are not doing a good job.

Pros

Caterpillar loyalty is second to none. People believe in the company and the products. Actual engineering still exists if you search out the opportunities. The team attitude at Cat is outstanding and the belief in customer support still exists.

Cons

Heavy on middle and upper management. An entire fleet of MBBs simply create processes that are unnecessary and time consuming. Often the process creators have no experience in doing the job function that are creating the process for. Often an aggressive employee is rewarded even though substance is lacking. No good locations.
