Pros

Company used to be full of incredible people. Mangers were compassionate, helpful, leaders of the industry. Customer service was the topmost priority, at any cost. Atmosphere was very familial and welcoming. Some incredible people worked here, great leaders, great team members. The brain-drain is real.

Cons

This company has changed completely. They left lower level managers alone for the most part, but shook up the top levels entirely. This way the employees didn't spook at sweeping changes as easily. Lower level managers seem way more stressed out, and they are all losing their offices in favor of a "flat management" style, where only VPs get offices now, everyone else is relegated to a cube. It's all about metrics now, a complete meritocracy where being a cutthroat jerk is rewarded.

Pros

The PTO bank is decent

Cons

Where to start? - so many layers of useless middle management - they will crow about how much money we’re making and NOT share it with the people that make it for them - the antiquated systems were forced to muddle through and that have weekly system issues - again, not profit sharing - the pay is laughable (unless you count getting extra work from those who don’t pull their weight as payment. Cuz then you’ll be richer than you ever dreamed!)

Pros

If you are lucky to have a great manager and business unit, the job can be rewarding. The pay & benefits are good for top performers.

Cons

Flexibility does not exist. All of the top claims leaders from legacy Chubb & Ace have been forced out. The best and brightest said they’d rather pay their own health insurance than stay another year. There has been nobody at the top of claims that even understand ‘Claims’ since Doug Poetch, Jeff Miller, and Frank Lattell were encouraged to leave. I think that was 2017. Now 30 year employees are just walking away. And most people think they can replace that experience with some younger, cheaper folks. In our industry, that is a recipe for disaster.Billions in profits. 2% raises. Leadership crushing the spirit out of newer employees. Holding on to awful managers who chase employees away. If all of the departures are in the same team, what other reason could there be?
