      Pros

      You Can "Follow Your Nose" at Cisco, and find an area of interest that fits what you want to do. AS a broad based technology company, you can migrate to an area where you are passionate, and make significant contributions to industry direction.

      Cons

      You can work as much as you want. As a remote employee, I work more hours now than I ever did at any previous job. The office politics have seemed to increase over the last few years, and this is a barrier to the creative and innovative spirit of many Cisco employees.

      Pros

      There are very good people at Cisco and comitted to customer success. The senior management is smart and understands the business. Benefits are good and overall compensation is on par with the industry. There are different opportunities to learn and grow in different technologies. Cisco is the leader in shaping the way the world communicates. It will be a great company for a long time.

      Cons

      Promotion opportunities are limited. You either have to have been here over 10+ years or have come in at the level you feel you are working at. Once inside, unless you have a guardian, performance with a combination of ability will not you get you very far.
