Pros

A lot of flexibility on the technology side. As long as the problems were solved very little or no red tape to go through. The managers were not very pesky.

Cons

Getting things cross teams is a nightmare. The back office is probably one of the reason they were unable to compete with other IBs even during the boom time.

Pros

Prestige - that's about it...for now. Citi is weathering this financial storm in a mediocre manner. If it does not improve soon it will be another Lehman Brothers. Senior Management and higher ups feel the only way to "improve" is to cut analysts and higher VERY few people. Next year's analyst class is going to have a rough time because the Ops work is BORING AS ANYTHING. I want to get the hell out of here.

Cons

The culture is very disconnected, it is hard to make relations and senior management is unapproachable. ALso, exit opps are not great as well.
