Pros

- Average salary, varies by country. - Solid as a rock, they almost never fire anyone, even if they deserve it. - Depending on the project you could end up traveling a lot.

Cons

- Don't have the projects and knowledge to keep and attract talented people, new or experienced. - Very old projects and technology, forget about applying the latest and greatest techniques of ANYTHING, they like their "changes" slow and stable, even if it is a complete mess, you will always hear something like "if it works, don't change it". - Collaboration with HQ is hit or miss most of the time, if you come from a third world country, be prepared to deal with months of vacations for the Germans. - They tend to keep the most advanced technologies on Germany, forget to get something interesting at other sites unless Germany is saturated. - Ego fights all over the place, specially in Germany and USA. - Zero grow plan for most employees, causes huge grow hunger on juniors and stagnation on seniors.

Pros

Good food in the canteen

Cons

They contracted me to work 8hr a day, Monday to Friday. However, I was obligated to work 16hr a day, from Monday to Sunday, and to be ready to work during the night as well. I reported this insane working hours to my manager, and he reproach me by saying I have to accept it. It is a scary history, and I lived it. First time in my life I was glad they fired me simply because my body and mind was not able to work 24hrs a day everyday. Be aware you will work as a slave. If you are willing to fight with your family daily because of your total absence, do not sleep during the nights, and lose your health, just to be a person easily to be fired, then this work suits you well.

Pros

The team that I belonged to was really awesome, full of great hard-working people from different countries that gave a multicultural background that you hardly can get anywhere else.

Cons

I was first hired as a contractor, and after two years of waiting for a full internal position, when it finally came, it implied around 40% less money in my pocket, at leas during the next two years. Internal politics played a huge roll in this process, because there was an initial eagerness to create the contractor position and it made the local manager oversee how much I was being payed, and then, when I was hired, it turned out to be out of range by a lot. Then, since it was impossible to go back to the contractor status and also there wasn't a chance to go above the pay range, I was pretty much bullied into accepting this new, inferior conditions without any perks or benefits for me or my family. The day I understood that I wasn't gonna win this one, I started looking for my next job, without second thought.
