Pros

Supportive and collaborative work environment, encouraged to develop new skills and expertise. Colleagues from varied backgrounds. Big projects to work on, lots of positive momentum.

Cons

A fair amount of "deadwood" across the company.

a fine place to learn

Pros

Great projects, very smart people, extensive opportunities to travel and relocate, real care in servicing clients; one of the best consultancies for a career in risk management. The culture is unique and fantastic.

Cons

Financial rewards are not in the company's culture so don't expect to be paid according to your qualifications, hard work or market price. Bonus are not paid or when they are, they are miserable. Overall it's a place to learn, not to earn money. Work balance is generally fine but there are some intense work phases, as in any other consultancy.

Poor managers no focus on employees.

Pros

Ability to travel. I would say the pay but even thats pretty poor.

Cons

Very poor medical insurance/coverage for consultants overseas, management - they really do not look after consultants or employees, you complete very arduous work and keep their clients extremely happy but are never repaid for the time and work put in. You sit around and wait on new contracts but management will never take the time to let you know if they've been signed off and would be happy for you to turn other work down and sit by earning nothing.
