      Pros

      If you are a part of the company that marketing likes you do not have to actually produce anything. Occasionally you get to focus on pet projects that are interesting to mid-level management.

      Cons

      Vertical business units with a lot of unproductive competition between groups. Ineffective, uninformed, and uneducated management. I've seen project/product leaders out right lie and get promoted. Active sabotage of successful projects by management as they try to steal the good ideas for themselves/their groups.

      -Free TV (some channels) -Opportunities to work with new technology -Good chance to build your resume as you'll literally do 3-5 jobs you weren't hired (or paid) for

      Cons

      -No work from home policy -Very low pay -Poor benefits -PTO capped at 15 days (after several years of employment!) -Broken equipment and furniture, generally poor office conditions -Regressive senior management who lead by "gut" over data

      Techs are a group of great guys.

      Cons

      This company has no loyalty at all. I worked for the company for ten years. I started from a level 1 technician and made my way up to Management. A few months ago they decided to make some cuts. I saw many hard working people that I have known throughout the years get cut. Even after building an entire training program. After ten years with the company I decided to leave on my terms before the next cuts. If you want to feel like you are just a number and a bi-monthly bill that DISH has to pay, then this is the job for you. If you want to feel secure in your job and feel appreciated, then run very far from this company. DISH is all about the $ and will step on anyone and everyone to get it.
