Good place for short term

Pros

- Corporate pays well - Work with pleasant, smart people (for the most part) - Plenty of room for growth and innovation - The business is changing - an exciting time - Good place to start your career as you will have lots of ability to contribute to important projects and quickly build your resume. Plus, DISH offers solid pay for graduates.

Cons

- Terrible benefits, awful maternity leave policy - Little diversity in SVP and above (almost no diversity in C-suite) - Little to no ability to work from home (although this does vary by team) - Outdated C-suite - current C-suite has no concept of what modernization is, especially in the social media marketing space - Lots of red tape surrounding C-suite and getting ideas to come to fruition - A feeling of "big brother" with badge reports even for senior employees, if there is dangerous weather, you're still expected to come in. Little regard for employee safety.

Pros

Free TV if you like TV. I would never consider paying for this over priced TV that is out 50% of the time.

Cons

Benefits are horrible. Forced to push agents to meet impossible metrics, lie to them, SNOOP on them with the intent to find any mistakes, coach sessions are to demoralize the agent so they will feel threatened to not leave their workstation even for a bathroom break. Never recognized agents for any good performance because they will then stop working hard. Every coaching session is to make the agent feel insecure. If they are meeting metrics, we must listen to every recorded call until we find something we can use against them. We even make them up because if we don't, our manager will tell us we are not trying hard enough. If we have anyone question or stand up for what's right, they are fired right away.

Pros

Annual mass layoffs aka “Talent Planning” May result in unemployment benefits as many wind up searching for a new career after short lived experiences with DISH.

Cons

Unethical behavior is condoned and rewarded on a regular basis. Management has a complete lack of transparency. People are treated as well as yesterday’s numbers on a spreadsheet. Like job titles are pitted against each other in competition with job security on the line while also being expected to help one another. Medical and dental insurance cover very little. New ideas and methods are very unwelcome. Job is threatened on a regular basis, even if you can demonstrate how people outperforming you are breaking the rules.
