Pros

Coworkers are really nice and building relationships with them outside of work

Cons

So manny where to begin. Only work here if it’s your last opportunity. Trust me only if you need a paycheck or will starve. This job is a JOKE. management lies about everything and never has your back. They just fired someone after lying about covering her fmla. You can not get time off without using PTO. don’t have pto get ready to get points for everyday you have off. Focus so much on your phone stats while mgmt is busy goofing off our talking to one another but if we go over .02 % better be ready to have a talking to. Wouldn’t want this job for my worst enemy. Stay away!!

Pros

Benefits, available time off, paid time off

Cons

If you are 1-60 minutes late you get .5 point. If you miss a day it’s 1-2 points. During first 12 weeks if you get 4 points you’re terminated. I had to work through extreme nausea. They judge your performance off account value and many many other things, so if customers want to remove something your performance goes down. I put in my 2 week resignation and called out for food poisoning and was forced to resign that day. I did them a favor by putting in a notice and they screwed me over.

Pros

DISH sells a culture of opportunity, and they mean it. I came in as a college grad, and before even a year of tenure I was presenting to my SVP. Promotions and career advancement conversations happened regularly with my manager, but the onus is on you to make those advancements happen. Make sure you're clear with your manager about specific tasks or skill you need to develop to get promoted, or you may feel like you're getting left behind. Expect to work hard, but I think generally that you're rewarded for that hard work. There are a lot of opportunities to stretch your knowledge, and you're given access to LinkedIn learning licenses to help you with that.

Cons

Company culture is top-down, which makes it feel forced and suffocating at time. The number of hours you are in the building (measured by badge reports, scanning in and out) is huge factor in promotions and raises. You HAVE to be in the office by 9 am or your VP gets an email saying you were "late". There's no work from home policy unless you have a good manager and they're flexible (which is admittedly becoming more common). Although culture varies a lot by team, I have seen a lot of improvements made at the company level (more food options, casual dress environment, employee resource groups, interest clubs, wireless initiative events, etc.)
