Pros

Pros would be working with the agents and developing them and seeing their growth. I've been able to make a few really close friends in this place. A few that I will call life long friends. Pay is decent, comp days, paid holidays, and mental health time(sick time) is good to have. My old team had a really good lead who should be promoted but management doesn't like this particular person and can't give a real explanation as to why. I have also had the ability to travel and have really enjoyed my trips to Colorado when I've had the opportunity to go.

Cons

Work- life balance is terrible. Our benefits are awful and our deductible went up to $5000 last year. There are a lot of brown nosers in our site that kiss up to managers in an attempt to get away with what they want. Being on salary I am only paid for 40 hours and routinely work 50+ hours. There is constant trash talking behind each other's backs, you have to watch for the moles who are so quick to be your buddy to your face and the sell you out to whomever will listen when they get a chance. Morale has dropped to an all time low. I have also been asked to partake in activities that I definitely did not agree with and they made me feel like a terrible human being for doing them. I know for sure that at least two people were terminated due to the things I was asked to do and the things I was tasked with finding out. We're talking people who may have been a single parent or were the only person working in their home. I felt that I had no choice but to partake in these witch hunts or I would be the one who was going to become unemployed. I've basically lost my integrity, and Dish has taken it from me. I now have a lead who does nothing but play on their cell phone and watch YouTube clips all shift. Hopefully that will get better since we're just getting to know each other but who knows.

Pros

located near some good taco stands. This woman occasionally brings brisket sandwiches to the parking lot and they are really good. 1 hour lunch.

Cons

There is a saying in Latin - "Res ipsa loquitur" - meaning "the thing speaks for itself". In this case, the turnover rate at Harlingen speaks for itself. 17 people started in my training class, 14 graduated, 10 were left after a month and when I left after 7 months, there were 4 of us left, there is 1 person left now, after 9 months. Substandard pay, mandatory overtime and a negative work environment are ineffectively counteracted by management with occasional free little Caesars, sparse casual dress days and other planned fun. Never have I worked with such a grumpy looking bunch of folks. Seriously, almost everyone seems miserable to be there. You can move up the chain fast because so few people stick around that after 6 months you are a long term employee. You need to keep personal track of your hours and weigh them against what your paycheck says. There were multiple times I had to contact Payroll to get money that didn't show up on my check. Feels really nice to work for a company that is trying to get away with not paying their employees money they earned. So many customers are so unhappy with the business practices and customer service rules, and they take it out on the rep. There is no continuity in service, you can speak to 6 reps and get 6 answers. Customers love that!! Coaches (managers) are overworked and often burnt out. They exist largely to take calls from super upset customers, allow payment extensions and tell everyone how bad of a job they are doing. Good work isn't rewarded. Bad work is recognized. You can get 3 compliment calls and you get a snickers bar, you get 3 complaint calls and you are in jeopardy of losing your job. I recommend this job to anyone who is out of options.

Pros

None. I really can't think of one positive thing except that I learned how not to manage or run a company.

Cons

Extreme stress brought on by management, especially senior management. Horrible company culture. Horrible benefits ($12,000 healthcare deductible that resets every January with poor HSA contributions). Incompetent group in HR. Extreme workload because everyone leaves and no one wants to stay long. Extreme silos and extremely hostile managers (think yelling and cursing at lower level employees on a regular basis).
