Pros
The corporate office itself is pretty cool. There's a cafeteria on site and a coffee shop. Lots of movie posters around. Some cool benefits like discounted SLING and DISH packages.
Cons
The owner/founder is a penny pincher, and that subsequently trickles down into every department and every team. You may think "Oh great! The founder doesn't like wasteful spending. That's smart." But that attitude has turned into "DISH doesn't like spending anything every, for any reason." It's kinda embarrassing actually. There's also an attitude that missing work is unacceptable. Before a big snow storm, the chief HR guy sent out an email telling everyone that we shouldn't keep asking if DISH will close down due to snow and that "we are Coloradoans, we know how to drive in the show, we have all Subarus." He probably thought that was funny but I felt it was extremely tone deaf. Especially because he works from home whenever he wants any other day. DISH is also extremely anti work from home. A few positions here and there get to work from home, but only because the corporate locations are running out of room and don't have enough desks for everyone to work in office. But be forewarned- don't believe when they say they offer a flexible work environment. Actually they probably won't even try to sell you on that. What the recruiters will sell you on is "At DISH, opportunity is our biggest benefit." Which isn't the flex they think it is. But DISH truly has such horrible benefits, "opportunity" is the only thing they can legitimately talk about. In short, DISH being a horrible place to work is not unknown. Just ask people. Whenever I've told people I worked at DISH, they said something along the lines of "Oh yikes!" or "Ew, why would you do that to yourself?" Don't let them fool you, the recruiters are really good at their job which is to sell the company. They will make it seem great, but read all of the reviews on here before you think about any offer.
