Pros

At the start of the pandemic Dish allowed work from home and provided good tools for Employees to do so.

Cons

As of 2022 Dish requires all employees to be in office without exception. Dish is coercive about vaccinations (even after the supreme court block of mandatory vaccinations for US employees). Dish is incentivizing employees to get the vaccine procedure and monetarily punishing those that do not.  Employees have asked about provisions for natural immunity with no response from Dish Management.  Vaccinated employees get a special green sticker to be worn at all times in the office that provide special perks including not wearing a mask.  It feels like medical status discrimination and it is now difficult to work in this environment.

Pros

Lots of projects Lots of tech to support

Cons

Bad management, at every level. All projects have a $0 dollar budget, and are attempted to be rolled out with open source projects, regardless of the licensing allows for that, with no changes pushed back to the projects. Pay is 60% on average of what other companies provide. Benefits were stripped down, with $5,000 dollar deductible per person, with $13,000 deductible for a family. Promotions are often down without a pay raise, some people have gone 4 years without their promised pay raise. Over worked, most teams run 3-8 people short all the time. Out of 10 to 12. Management only cares about the wireless initiative. IPTV and Satellite services infrastructure is 12-15 years out of date, unsupported equipment such as routers and switches. Multiple cyber security breaches that are not reported upwards to the security teams or management.

Pros

Company parties are sponsored by programmers (Food Network, etc.) and usually include adult beverages and giveaways.

Cons

Terrible benefits (expensive, high-deductible medical, barriers to prescription meds), very few paid holidays. HQ requires core hours (must arrive by 9 and leave after 4), and employees cannot work remote on a regular schedule.
