Pros

The people working here on the teams are great.

Cons

Upper management has a LONG way to go. They don't trust their employees, they often overwork people with no compensation, and expect you to bleed Dish values when in turn they don't practice the same ideals. Charlie Ergan (the chairman) insists that the best benefit he can give his employees is the benefit of opportunity. If I wasn't clear, this place doesn't not respect your personal/family needs.

Pros

If you have a good Manager, projects can be very rewarding and provide great experience for advancing ones career

Cons

Benefits are competitively the bottom of the barrel for Engineering. Large number of employees that would prefer to move on but feel stuck because they are in green card processing. Poor planning by upper management has resulted in mandatory cancellations of vacations and long nights and weekends for months at a time that could have been avoided. Upper management has little ability to understand intangibles.

Pros

Free tv service. Food catering.

Cons

Huge disconnect from corporate and agents. Your just a number and they wont care. They will take your base salary away and bring it down to insulting amounts. Your tenure and career raises for performace will be taken from you. There is no difference in pay for someone whos worked for dish 10 years vs just started last week. Dont make friends. They wont work there long. You are replaceable and they know that. The turn over is over 100% they lose more employees than they can hire so the hiring never stops. Dish is considered one of the worst companies to work for in america for a reason. Do not believe the positive reviews. You do not have value. If your promoted up the ranks, nothing changes. They do site wide demotions to "reorganize" skils. Even lower level corporate employees are treated horribly. Over worked with unrealistic goals is a trend through out the entire company from bottom, almost to the top. You have no value, you are replaceable. I repeat. You have no value and you will perform or you will be replaced. If you perform well, u might get a "hopper" buck. A few of these and you can redeem a free movie ticket. You will walk into work after years of working there and realize no one in your training class you started with works here. No one on your first team works here anymore. Even your supervisors have been changed like clothes. You do not have any value. Once a week, a ambulance is parked out front. Responding to some poor souls panic attack or anxiety. People literally get carried out because of the stress. This is a regular occurrence. So is seeing your co workers in tears broken by unrealist expectations. You will get used to this and you might even start performing well at your job. Its taken me years to master it but still, you will have no value.
