Pros

Great opportunities if you work hard. In five years, I doubled my salary and went from a phone rep to a web developer (without prior experience). People are good to work with all the way up the ladder. It's a huge company, so you can change department whenever your job starts getting stale

Cons

Centralized in Denver Changes are often made without adequate forethought

Pros

They’ll hire anyone with a pulse and a bit of brain capacity. Corporate is a good place to get hired remotely since few people local to Denver will work there. It is a job to get yourself set up to move to CO and then find something new 6m later (don’t worry about being a “job hopper” — most HR people in the industry are actively poaching DISH employees.)

Cons

Compensation is atrocious compared to peer companies, especially in tech. Medical is the worst I’ve seen from a large company (ind plan has a $2500 deductible and 30% coinsurance after deductible — no copays or such). Managers are willing to throw you under the bus if it helps then save face. The corporate office is shabby, poorly maintained, and smells like sewage at times.
