      While its not a terrible place to work promotions are nearly totally based on favoritism instead of work performance.

      Pros

      DISH has a clear career path for hourly associates. This allows for decent advancement opportunities for hourly employees. They also offer at least basic benefits and insurance as well.

      Cons

      After reaching a salaried position promotions are based on who likes you. If you are well liked by upper management you well be assigned very well performing teams and have plenty of chances for further advancement. However if you are not a favorite then you will be assigned poor teams (normally based on shifts, the better shifts attract the best performers.)

      Great exposure, great experience

      Pros

      For the internship position, I was given a lot of responsibility and a lot of exposure to senior management. I was very impressed with the respect I was given by both normal and high-level employee, and really could not have asked for a better experience.

      Cons

      While I highly recommend the internship, the full-time position is not quite as rosy. Positions tend to be at the low end of the market average, with an inconsistent and subjective promotion schedule for employees. There is little opportunity to move up, mentorship is neglected, and the common view is that "if you want to move up in the company, join someone else for awhile and then come back."
