Pros

- lots of experience and cross training due to revolving door of employees - Most managers hate the ones above them, so there are some good first line managers that watch out for their people - Reasonable time off as long as you don't plan on being gone more than a few days at a time - I had a cool boss so I was treated pretty well, but had to watch the train wrecks around me

Cons

- Initial offer was laughable. They tried to offer what I had asked for when applying for a job 6 years ago, and I had to justify why they should even match my previous salary. - Benefits are horrible, hope your spouse has a better plan - Work from home? No. Never. If it's a BLIZZARD is expected you will get a "be prepared" email from HR. Their answer to avoid danger on the roads is to stay at hotel by the office. - Charlie sticks his head into way too many meetings and doesn't trust his employees. That's why you hire experts. - They are proud of never having layoffs. Instead they do mass firings and make up a performance number that everyone is supposed to hit (changes with each firing). This way they don't pay unemployment.

Pros

The benefits are excellent, the managers are extremely considerate, there are great performance based pay incentives, four days on three days off. Your pretty much on your own, no one breathing down your neck all day. Paid training. You can easily track your performance, success, and rate of growth. You get to meet new and interesting people everyday. You get tips( i average $60 a week in tips).

Cons

Dish techs are required to work 365 days a year. long, hard hours in cramped spaces, wet spaces, and dirt and insulation filled places. Hazardous working conditions. Often days without breakfast or lunch. Equipment that takes hours to install fails often.

Pros

Best reasons to work at Dish are the name recognition the company has - good resume builder. Also, because turnover is so high if you can tolerate the culture have potential to get promoted faster than would at other Fortune 500's.

Cons

Culture requires overtime but there is no reward for it. Working 50-60 hours a week is considered normal and not appreciated. Not appropriate to question existing systems as feedback from lower level employees is not desired. Senior management is involved in some ethically questionable practices and is very condescending to lower level employees. Not abnormal to hear management curse at employees.
