Pros

Opportunity (for those that work hard to achieve it). Personable leadership team. Productive/Innovative company looking at the "next great thing". Coworkers who want and like to help. Leadership tries to bring a fresh perspective to a fairly repetitive industry (as call centers can be). Maybe I'm wired different but, we (meaning me) are all in charge of our own careers. The great employees (and Hilliard has tons), take an active role in hitting thier metrics, networking in the office, volunteering for addtl projects, and overall conduct themselves in a positive manner.

Cons

Life and the professional work environment (by definition) is competitive, with high demands and high expectations. Sometimes it feels as though we are falling short however, this is because we always strive to be better today then we were yesterday. I think leadership has done a much better job of balancing culture vs. metrics however, can always get better.

Pros

Plenty of room for advancement. I started on the phones and after three years had the opportunity to come up to corporate. I'm loving every day of it. Hard work and metrics go along way. So if you are determined there is plenty of room to grow. They also offer tuition reimbursement to employees which shows they want their employess to stay with the company and obtain skills. After a certain time you get plenty of PDO and sick time as well as holiday pay.

Cons

At the call center different coaches had different expectations and rules. Would be nice if they all had definite guidelines.

Pros

I was almost scared away from taking a position with DISH because of the things I read on Glass Door. I'm so glad I decided to see for myself. I am guessing the poor reviews are not from folks working in the corporate office. My experience here has been amazing and I cannot say enough good things about the company. Compensation is generous, and benefits are very good.Expectations are reasonable and you will work on assignments that are probably beyond your pay grade. This is a really really good thing. You will have fantastic exposure to senior executives, and you will gain tremendous experience. The corporate office has a great energy. I love being surrounded by people who are extremely smart and extremely driven. Everyone works very hard. It is also a very fun work environment. I came from a stuffy corporate finance type of position, so to be in a more relaxed, creative environment has been really fantastic. I've been here almost one year and the work events we have had have also been amazing. We had a huge employee summer BBQ and concert and there is another employee-appreciation event this week. The ATM (All Team Meetings) are also pretty cool. I feel like there is a lot of transparency within the company and the CEO gives everyone updates and takes questions from the crowd. I also feel like there is a lot of room for growth at DISH. I have seen many of my co-workers receive promotions or move to different departments (on their own accord).

Cons

If you don't like structure, this probably isn't the place for you. Employees are asked to remain in the building during "core business hours" of 9 am-4 pm, with the exception of the lunch hours of 11:30-1:30. However, I have definitely left for various doctor's appts and things and it has not been a problem. It is really not as rigid as people made it sound in other reviews. Work hard, get your hours in, and your manager probably won't mind if you need to leave early on Friday or leave for an appointment.
