Pros

Discounted TV service and equipment

Cons

This company has always had a bad reputation but it all makes sense. It continues to be a bad employer to work for and it shows. Terrible management begins with executives to below. Company tries to show it offers growth and opportunity for employees but it truly does not. Only cares for the bottom line no matter the cost.

False Salary Promises

Pros

*Uncapped Commission* if you meet their convoluted commission guidelines...

Cons

Their 'uncapped commission' is an advertising ploy to draw in new employees (due to the extremely high attrition rate) You make $14 an hour starting (29k a year BEFORE taxes) - no matter what experience you have They claim the average salary for this position is 55k+ and that their top employees make 6 figures - lies. They have a convoluted way of 'calculating' if you get a commission for a call and chances are you won't come anywhere near 55k your first year, no matter how many customers you retain/upgrade. You're basically their EXTREMELY underpaid sales force. In most cases you will have to wait MONTHS to even begin training - everyone I talked to had the same experience as me, quick interviews and offers and then a start date 2-3 months away.

Pros

Smart, hard-working people. The product is also top-notch and always at the forefront.

Cons

You are overworked, given poor benefits, and treated unfairly to your peers. No sick time, minimal holidays off, 100% 401k vesting after 5 years, just strictly 3 weeks of PTO in which you are forced to take when it snows and travel is not recommended instead of working remotely like a few select individuals are allowed. DISH is supposed to be a wireless company but yet they have a very old school culture that monitors employee's access like a babysitter. Your manager is notified if you arrive or leave beyond specific times, but then again a few select individuals have a nearly identical role and are allowed to work 100% remote. With that said, the majority of peers are very talented and intelligent, some of the best at what they do.
