Pros

The people working here on the teams are great.

Cons

Upper management has a LONG way to go. They don't trust their employees, they often overwork people with no compensation, and expect you to bleed Dish values when in turn they don't practice the same ideals. Charlie Ergan (the chairman) insists that the best benefit he can give his employees is the benefit of opportunity. If I wasn't clear, this place doesn't not respect your personal/family needs.

Pros

There are opportunities for transitioning into positions where an employee has limited experience if he/she is willing to take on the extra work of learning the job.

Cons

Pay is typically lower than similar positions at other companies and health insurance isn't very good. The owner of the company also doesn't seem to care about employees. New hires generally get hired on at hire pay than existing employees. Work life is generally considered more important than family life.

Pros

Not much, may be job security and some experience if you are fresh out of college. Even though Denver is a nice place to live, working for a company like dish will make your life miserable. Save the trouble.

Cons

Lots..even in a snow storm you are expected to come by 9am. If you come late it is marked as unacceptable and you get to meet the HR and issued a strict warning. Micromanaged employees, poor benefits, poor work environment and appraisals are dismal. Add to that an expensive city like Denver, you are at a huge disadvantage. All they care about is useless time sheets rather than performance and training. I regret joining Dish everyday. And worst of all shifting teams is very difficult.
