Pros

Great location, just off Interstate 80 frwy.FREE PARKING, FREE FOOD IN EMPLOYEE CAFETERIA, Friendly, Caring employees and managers, Not a stressfull place to work when compared to the most expensive hotel in Sacramento. You are NOT constantly micromanaged by egotistical managers who make you feel like you should be grateful you are still employed after working there over 10 years.

Cons

Very low banquet tip rate lowest in town. some of the staff are of your Walmart variety and quality, but others are very good. Facility maintenance could be better, although better maintained now than when it was a Red Lion Hotel.

Pros

If you enjoy working with the public, hotels are a great place to work.

Cons

The pay is absolutely horrible. I understand that there is a cost of living difference from where I moved from, but geez! If I had to rely on this paycheck alone, even working 7 days a week (even WITH the overtime rate of pay) I wouldn't be able to pay all my bills. I am literally making less than half of what I made at my last job, and that was retail.

Pros

There are many locations and employees receive discounts when staying at various branches. Often celebreties are guests at various branches. Employees are from all over the word. It is a very diverse work environment. Lunch is provided free of charge daily.

Cons

The salargy was low. Emplyees that do not have to wear uniforms must dress in business atire. Employees at my location had to pay $3 a day for parking. Limited opportunity for career advancement. Job was boring nd unchallenging. Hours are not fixed and schedual fluctuates often. Have to work many weekends, evenings, and holidays.
