Good for the CV, bad for everything else.

Pros

- You’ll work with very intelligent people. - The flexibility is pretty good - working from home is encouraged in some areas.

Cons

- Consistently long working hours. - Remuneration is very low compared to market. - Development is scant and only available to a select few. - Highly political environment - favouritism is rampant, decisions take a long time to be made. - IT is antiquated and inadequate - the firm is largely run via spreadsheets. - Middle management is not effective. - The firm exists solely to benefit the owners i.e. the Partners - building a better working world for them only. - Mental health issues are on the rise and are not being effectively addressed - staff are overworked and underpaid.

Pros

Joined on the graduate scheme and got a lot of learning opportunities in the 2 years that you wouldnt get at a smaller firm. Also got a lot of exposure to senior management, but that was by virtue of being in a small technical team, and not one of the massive Performance Improvement/Operations teams.

Cons

The 'firm' doesn't care about people, even though some individuals do. There is a decent culture for such a big firm but it's not for someone looking to be hand held through.

Pros

I didn't have any positive experience. The environment was toxic and no one was interested in my development , just wanted to get the most hours out of me possible .

Cons

The managers didn't support people and help to learn the role, I just felt like a slave basically. Also they play favorites and I got that impression right away.
