Pros

You get to work with some awesome people. The average person at EY is motivated, intelligent and fun. You get good access to leaders (each partner is like a mini-CEO), especially due to the open-plan office. Clear career progression. Learn a lot very quickly about different industries and processes. Can be a great place to figure out what you're passionate about.

Cons

Lots of politics and some leadership who burn through staff. Pay is low. Not much choice as to which projects you get put on, and some really suck (lots of travel, long hours, boring work). Learning & Development is second-place to chargeable work. KPIs do not reflect what staff have control over (especially utilisation). Some difficult clients / clients who don't really want to change. Can be disheartening seeing the ideas and reports shelved after an engagement Lateral hires from industry often struggle - basic consulting skills are a must to succeed and these aren't taught well.

Pros

- Once in awhile you will be staffed on a really exciting project. - Get to interact with people from all over the world

Cons

To be successful in the consulting practice at EY, you have to have a very specific personality type and set of values. If you have a history of using bullying or intimidation to get your way, your style will be awarded and applauded. If you have no relationships or life outside of work, you will rise to the top quickly. If you pride yourself on working 70-80 hour weeks and making half the salary as industry professionals, this is definitely for you. If you enjoy making others feel bad because they are choosing their kids or spouses over work, a bonus is coming your way! The normal ones who value their families and life over work eventually leave or are let go, so you're left with the described types who thrive. If you are a recent grad, they will work you until you burn while paying you a truly embarrassing salary. Stick to industry. It's not worth it.

Pros

Nice premises. Easy to get hired, you only need a reference (this comes with a price). The number of men and women are equal. Annual salary raises. The brand. Nice events. The sense of safety, the company is earning more money every year.

Cons

If you are an IT person you will be discourage by the technical level of your colleagues. Business analysts are considered must more valiable compare to a programmer. Average salary. acquaintances are promoted. Overtimes, work on weekends without pay. Exhausting hours and too much presure. You are not being rewarded for your effort. Dress code.
