Pros

Most of the managers adopt hands-off approach. EY Atlas & homepage are very informative, you can find IFRS, IAS, audit methodology, and research slides there.

Cons

Very disappointed with the management. In the insurance sector, which I am in, there is a severe lack of seniors and managers. Management resorted to converting SGV 'seniors', a member firm of EY Philippines, to EY SG permanent staff. Sadly, 90% of these so called seniors are very incompetent, whether technically or in client management. For instance, when the client told these 'seniors' that he or she does not have the documents requested, these 'seniors' turned and flipped the client's documents without the client's consent. Their working style and culture are also vastly different from Singapore's or Malaysia's. For example, they love to talk and sing loudly while working, which is very disruptive to others. They also love to play their rank, for instance, a simple task of requesting directors' resolution to approve FS from the client, they will ask the assistants to request for them, even though the manager has specifically instructed them to obtain the dir reso from the client.

Pros

CV, variance of potential clients, really intelligent mix of staff

Cons

Dynamics of Audit, Tax, Advisory simply doesn't gel and there is no room for entrepreneurship . Audit business hampers the progression of the Advisory to a crippling state. Also such a culture promoting women ahead of men day after day, creating special events in every sector at every level just for women, that it now goes against there own aims of 'balance'. Equal opportunities is just that , Equal. Creating inequality for the sake of looking to create Equality is perverse

Pros

Good exposure to proper industry standards. Competitive pay with good medical benefits

Cons

Long hours. Depending on the team, experience can suffer significantly. Team leaders generally allow bullying and abusive behaviours if the aggressor is good performer.
