Not a good place for experienced hires
Pros
Offer flexible schedule, so you can work from home or take time off to run some personal errands. Offer excellent annual training for each different level. Very laid back environment compared to other big four accounting firms. You can easily find employees who are not meeting the firm's expectation.
Cons
EY is not a friendly place for experienced hires. The firm is not so welcoming and you are pretty much on your own to survive. Long term employees are very cohesive and do not welcome new comers. They can ignore you right in front of your face. The firm is not organized as a whole, and things can fall through cracks pretty easily. No job specific training was provided and new experienced hire training was provided four months after I was hired. Experienced hires will get low budget but demanding projects nobody wants. The year end review is not based on your performance. It's not about how well you performed but it's all about who you know. You are asked to perform one level up without additional compensation. It's almost like they do not want to promote you but expect you to work harder. The firm has groups such as DSG, GCR, BST and PCS. It doesn't mean anything. There is no special group. You just get assigned to whatever. If you want to focus on one specific area, you are out of luck.
