Pros

Small, smart team working on a mission driven product. Lots of room to grow with the company. Well funded, visionary leadership. Downtown Palo Alto location. Ability to work from home.

Cons

Many of us live either north or south of Palo Alto and the commute can be long, but audible helps to make the time fly by. Also, work hours are flexible which helps with skipping the worst commuting times.

Pros

Smart people, close workers, good ideas

Cons

App has too many bugs that weren't getting fixed while focusing on bad new features, terrible micromanagement, small office space, cluttered, one conference room, distracting gas station.

It was good until it wasn't

Pros

EarnIn is an established startup with a solid product with expanded offerings. Work is pretty flexible for remote employees, and PTO is unlimited. In my experience I have had good direct managers and work with a lot of kind employees.

Cons

Culture within the larger company has changed dramatically within the past year, sometimes it feels unrecognizable to me. The push for growth keeps becoming more and more of a pressure cooker feel which has caused a host of operational issues. Cross-functional collaboration with other departments is extremely difficult and there are is a lack of welcoming spaces for women. This has all been disappointing because my first year working here was pretty good and it just nosedived.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and perspective. It means a lot that you recognized the people you've worked with and the flexibility and benefits we offer- we care deeply about creating an environment where employees can do meaningful work alongside kind, supportive colleagues. At the same time, I'm really sorry to hear that the culture has felt so different for you recently, particularly around collaboration and creating welcoming spaces for women. That kind of feedback is important and something we take seriously. As companies grow and evolve, it's critical that we stay grounded in the values that brought us here in the first place. If you're open to it, I'd strongly encourage you to connect with our People Partnering team directly. We genuinely want to understand experiences like yours in more depth and ensure every employee feels supported, heard, and able to do their best work here. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. Feedback like this helps us reflect and continue improving.
