They Don't Care About You

Pros

They pay you a paycheck and there a few good people that keep the company afloat.

Cons

No matter what they say, money is always more important than people. Any claim otherwise is a lie. This company treats their employees and clients like garbage. The company will claim to care about their clients when it is time to sign or a renew a contract, then completely ignore their needs until it is time to sign again in a few years. "Who cares? The contract is signed so they have to pay us." The "People" (HR) department is a joke. They claim to care about the employees, yet their only purpose is to protect the company. The benefits are awful. Only a 3% maximum match on retirement, which is by far the worst in the higher education industry. The funds in the 401k plan are Vanguards worst performing funds. Any attempts at "providing additional benefits" for employees is a form of gaslighting. Your manager will refuse to have your back and never stick up for you. The C-Suite is completely out of touch with reality and stays in their own bubble without regard for the normal person. The products are terrible. The mentality is there is no reason to produce a good product since they have most of the market share. Every upgrade release has multiple defects. This leads to the client facing employees being hung out to dry by the development team. The "future" of the company's revenue is cloud based services that is run incompetently. The cloud team cannot think for themselves and does not care at all about their clients. In addition to bungling the cloud opportunities, the company refuses other, more realistic opportunities to help its clients. The company will ALWAYS do what is legal and not what is right. Keep that in mind if you ever get sick. Getting to Long-Term Disability is a guarantee for termination (it is in their policies!!!). They will lie to you and themselves by saying they “did you a favor” by not terminating you right after FMLA. Best of luck if you choose to work here, you are going to need it. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Ellucian Response

We appreciate your feedback. As communicated in our company-wide Town Hall earlier this week, our #1 priority is to protect the health and well-being of our employees. That includes being good stewards of company resources, ensuring that business resiliency and financial strength are the guiding principles in protecting our workforce and supporting our customers. We are proud of the strength and solidarity our employees have shown during this challenging time and how quickly our organization has adapted to being 100% remote. We will continue to provide the flexibility, transparency, and support to our employees. If we can provide more clarity or address any other concerns, please feel free to leverage the ask-leadership slack channel where you will get a timely response from a member of our Executive Team or contact your HRBP directly. Hope you and yours stay healthy and safe!

Horrible

Pros

Most of the employees can work remotely and do.

Cons

Processes not built out, service operations is "sputtering" at best, always trying to do everything on the cheap, always with poorly trained and overworked "consultants", and processes by people that admit they are not technical. The clients (higher education) are 80% furious. Biggest focus, as with any bad company, is to bill clients hours, plus spread the party line how wonderful it all is.
