      Pros

      The people are great. There is flexibility to work from home. There is a clear message from the CEO about the importance of the company's contribution to the higher education landscape, although profits are still important. There is opportunity for advancement as the company grows and changes. There is a set of clearly defined initiatives and goals for the year.

      Cons

      Business is in a state of constant change that isn't managed well. There are often different groups working on the same issue/challenge without coordinating efforts. It's sometimes hard to stay updated on information you need to be effective. Some areas are understaffed where others have excess capacity, so the workload isn't evenly distributed.

      Total chaos full of lies

      Pros

      Working from home. Low level people are very nice and concerned about their clients.

      Cons

      Another round of layoffs. You let go ten percent and you don't even tell the rest of the company. Established a curve that during reviews, 30% would be above average, 60% would be average, and 10 % below average. Raises would depend on which group you were rated into, and how much you make compared to the average salary for your position. We were led to believe that 10% would get no raise; turns out they were fired instead.

      IT in turmoil since leadership change

      Pros

      Work from home a few days a week. Decent benefits. Very talented team of direct colleagues.

      Cons

      Upper IT management is chaotic. They do not seem to be able to plan something more than one week in advance. They want to micro-manage everything, but do not actually do it, thus slowing progress down.. They tend to give very complex tasks on short notice with practically impossible deadlines. Fly by the seat of our pants seems to be the order of the day.
