Good pay, unlimited coffee, tea, soda

Cons

Company is very Cut Throat. Only hires Contractors-no job security. Problematic old equipment that new hires are expected to fix in training. Training is a game of chess for the instructor. Ask no questions as this ensures you a pink slip.

Pros

This (SGHE) was formerly was a good place to work. Since the acquisition by Datatel, the majority of good people have left. I don't know that I have anything good to say about the remaining company.

Cons

Since SGHE's acquisition by Datatel and the formation of Ellucian, the former SGHE has been decimated. I would be surprised if the Malvern, PA office remains open much longer.

Pros

Got to meet and help so many colleges and universities. Learned a lot.

Cons

You get lost due to poor management. People are silo-ed so when the layoffs occur they don't really know who's the best to keep and let go. It's just, "well, get rid of this many people.".
