Pros

- People / Culture: Smart, fun, competitive but not cut-throat. And very diverse, too! - Employee Development: Expected to swtich positions every 18-24 months, potential for movement globally or across functions. - Work/Life Balance: Not always, but at least they try - It's always a goal each year.

Cons

As with many large organizations, politics plays a big part in your career. Be aware that you must "play the game" if you want to get promoted, especially today where there are fewer promotion opportunities available yet the talent pool is filled with MBAs from top business schools, most of whom are smart and capable. Doing a great job will not get your promoted unless you have the right people/leaders helping you along the way.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
