Pros

Salary and CPA bonus comparable to Big 4, "Unlimited" PTO

Cons

Senior Associates and Associates are undervalued and overworked just as much, if not more than the Big 4. Many Associate Year Twos are expected to Senior multiple jobs without a pay raise or bonus increase and without proper training/experience. Most are not asked to step up into the senior role, they are simply assigned as the in-charge without consent. Since GT has many private clients, the busy season is extended through April and sometimes May, which is longer than the Big 4 busy season. The company does not recognize hard work and expects every associate to step it up. Employees are not scheduled proper wrap up time for their jobs, and thus are expected to work overtime to finish up certain jobs while already on the next job. The bonus is not adequate for the amount of overtime and stress employees go through, nor is the difference between an employee who meets expectations vs exceeds expectations.

Pros

Some folks are great to work with. Some of the leaders really do care.

Cons

Workday practice is a total mess. They have trouble selling work and hours are much lower than they should be so consultants end up spread very thin across multiple projects and still can't hit utilization targets on paper even if they are working very hard in actuality. The independence requirements are insane!! If I had known I would have to disclose all of my investments and be told wha t I am or am not allowed to invest money in I would not have taken the job. Independence is total hell and most consulting firms don't subject employees to those invasive requirements.
