Pros

GT's Dallas office has a good mix of large, medium and small clients in a variety of industries, so you should be able to get the experience you want if you ask for it. Also, the people at GT are very smart and usually nice people.

Cons

GT definitely low balled their employees in terms of pay during COVID when you compare how they managed the situation to how the Big 4, BDO and RSM did. This made a lot of people mad. Also, I don't know if this is exclusive to GT, but the woke politics has definitely started to show up in the firm culture and required "trainings". Last thing I will say, GT has no idea how to balance out the workload between associates. One associate could end up never working more than 70 hours all busy season and have a light summer on top of that, while others get pigeon holed into working on horrible clients and end up working multiple consecutive 100 hour weeks during busy season and working 70 plus throughout the summer.

Pros

Some folks are great to work with. Some of the leaders really do care.

Cons

Workday practice is a total mess. They have trouble selling work and hours are much lower than they should be so consultants end up spread very thin across multiple projects and still can't hit utilization targets on paper even if they are working very hard in actuality. The independence requirements are insane!! If I had known I would have to disclose all of my investments and be told wha t I am or am not allowed to invest money in I would not have taken the job. Independence is total hell and most consulting firms don't subject employees to those invasive requirements.
