Pros
This company is very successful in Mexico. They have the potential succeed in the U.S. just as they have in South America. The group of employees i worked with made work a place to look forward to. Most employees strive for the same goal and vision. The benefits are good specially if it is just you under the insurance plan. Free premiums for medical/dental for Employee. The leaders of this company want " M.A.C.'' to succeed, and are restructuring in big ways to do what it takes to make their U.S.A. plants successful. 10 Vacation days accrued from the first day of employment. Great team at the T.X. production plant. The Production Manager is very knowledgeable, professional, and a pleasure to work with as well as the rest of the production team. A new Country Manager originally from Rotoplas in Mexico moved to the U.S. to help fix the issues M.A.C. is having, and to bring success. From what I've seen , he is definitely confident, passionate, and prepared to help this company strive.
Cons
Unrealistic goals for the sales team. Many salesmen have came and gone in just a few weeks. Horrible turnover rate. Not much job security. No short term or Long term disability. No tuition assistance yet they seek to fill most positions with a high degree. The company has a lot of growth left to do , in order to be successful in the United States. They seem to learn from error more than thinking ahead before making decisions. They dont have many processes written in English, which makes it difficult for non-Spanish speaking employees to succeed. The production plant has great leaders, and I am sure once the sales pick up, they will have thr ability to make a lot of great product. The only thing that held the plant back was the inexperienced individual placed as quality coordinator, but the morale, and overall environment got better once that person left. I worked here for almost a full year, and it took them over 7 months to bring any furniture in. Employees had to work every day sitting on uncomfortable cheap plastic chairs , and tables. Part of management needs to work on caring for their employees more, and communicating with them to understand their struggles and concerns. Another dislike i have is that not much recognition is given. You can work ridiculous hours, give your best at all you do , but it seems to not be good enough to some managers. Another con for this company is that they expect their employees to wear multiple hats, yet pay them as if they have minimum job experience for their role. The salaries need to be reviewed as well. A lot of employees are underpaid.
