Pros

Good name on resume - probably only pro

Cons

The GMS - Mobile Consulting Services is horrible. First off, the team is made up of Type A personality, NJ women. Very aggressive, immature, childish - as if they never left high school. All they do is gossip about one another, cause drama, talk behind people's backs. One employee's close family member passed away - they did not let her take off two days, "only one day as per procedure." This place is absolutely disgusting. They abuse their team, everyone is treated worse than dogs. The name on the resume is not worth the hell you will go through in this place. THREE PEOPLE LEFT IN SIX MONTHS.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
