Pros

Some genuinely good people here. Mostly the new (younger generation). Work/life balance and flexibility is improving.

Cons

Management will do whatever it takes to keep black women from advancing. Those who advance are forced into lateral moves or toxic roles. Expect to work twice as hard as your white counterparts. Eventually you will burnout from the exorbitant workload they put on you and give up. Once you begin to notice what’s going on and reach out for help, you might as well start packing your bags. HR is not your friend and management is skilled at engineering scenarios that force you out or trigger a reaction from you that they can highlight —beware! You will watch white employees leave at 5pm while you are working until midnight. Do not come here if you are a black female. It is degrading and you will leave a shell of your former self.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
