Pros

Remote work was nice. Everything else was awful. Some severance when they lay you off.

Cons

I worked for a company that was acquired by NTT. They told us for months that everyone would have a job and that NTT was acquiring us but intended to “do no harm”, but that was not the case. It was only a couple months after intergration into NTT that the layoffs started. They let a ton of great people go. They also dismantled the things that made the acquired companies good or special. Morale eroded. No one was happy. Everyone was constantly looking over their shoulder waiting for something else awful to happen. It’s disheartening to watch talented people get cut and the thing you built get dismantled. Raises got significantly smaller. Benefits were not as good. Good people got beat down and defeated.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.

Pros

- Strong global presence allows for diverse projects, clients, and opportunities - Enabled and encouraged to learn new technologies, use tools, and grow skills - Generally supportive teams and cross collaboration - Great work-life balance in many roles

Cons

- Compensation and raises can be slow, infrequency, and below market - Personal Development review process can be unclear and slow - Processes and decision making around them can feel very outdated, there seems to be a lack of structure and clarity around many HR and business operations areas - Very little employee recognition - Critical benefits information isn’t distributed well and there is zero follow up actions to ensure we have all important access/accounts set up
