Pros
The biggest PRO to Solventum is that Bryan Hanson, CEO, has built out his executive leadership team with people outside of 3M/Solventum. That was greatly needed in order to bring new life into the company and separate from the old, archaic ways and thinking of 3M. There is great messaging and momentum from the leadership team, but large company culture and business changes take time (as with any company). Also, Solventum has strong product offerings and market share in numerous healthcare segments such as HIS and Med/Surg. I see good things for this company in the future as long as the changes in culture and business operations continues to funnel down through the various organization levels.
Cons
One CON that I have is the recent layoffs. I understand that it was a necessary business need, but there really was no rhyme or reason to who and where the layoffs happened. Marketing took a large hit across all divisions, including entire marketing teams being eliminated from high growth products and priority platforms. Another CON is that there will continue to be growing pains as we navigate out culture changes and business structure. Not necessarily a bad thing, but just something that can be challenging and at times, frustrating.
