Pros

I really loved Swiss Re during my time there. Management is friendly, open to suggestions, you will rarely find micromanagement, autenticity, autonomy, integrity and continuous improvement are the core values that everyone expects. Swiss Re Academy is a great place to learn new skills and competences. Intracompany mobility is highly promoted, with oppportunities for shadowings, rotations, movement through various departments, honing your skills and expertise.

Cons

The company don´t have local offices everywhere although it has around 37 offices around the world. I had to leave becuase I was relocating to a country without local coverage and international remote work is, sadly, not allowed. That is the biggest con I can think of. Swiss Re gave me wings and roots, I will be forever a very happy ex-employer.

Pros

1. 12% 401k match 2. Amazing co workers in the trenches but this is rapidly changing as people look for the exits.

Cons

1. Management - the new management team has a maximum personal bonus / profit only mindset. Cost cutting reigns. 2. Constant layoffs. No job is safe. 3. Company has offshored many jobs to India and is in a race to move key underwritering, engineering, claims functions to India as well. Overall, it feels more like a private equity gut job than a publicly traded company.
