Pros

Interview for security analyst was not that tough. It was handled a panel of 2-3 people Once in the job we get to learn a lot of new things as I was into SOC under a MSSP model New things + feedback from existing things = learning never stops Salary on time Team outings Different teams from different domains exist in UST. All the above are pros

Cons

Cons Do not expect much in hikes which is expected of a service based company A global service based IT company out of Kerala is a huge thing which helps professionals to stay back in the state However certain rigid HR policies such as not entertaining WFH for an emergency period and in short treating both well performing and poorly performing employees equally will bring a loss of talent to UST Managers should try to understand the real potential of his/her team member and then support them accordingly instead of seeing everyone as mere resources on the basis of numbers which in my own experience is happening at other service based companies UST should immediately revamp its web portals hosting its various internal resources. For eg: its alumni portal is being shown as under construction In short UST is an organization which has a lot of potential but needs to restructure its policies based on certain global practices especially its HR side

Thank you for sharing your insights about your experience at UST. It’s great to hear that you appreciate the continuous learning environment, timely salary payments, and team outings. We recognize the importance of having diverse teams and the value they bring to our organization. Your point about salary hikes is noted, and we strive to align expectations with our service-based model. We also understand your concerns regarding rigid HR policies, particularly around work-from-home arrangements. Flexibility is important to us, and we are continuously reviewing our policies to better support our team members, especially during times of need. Currently, we operate on a hybrid model, which has been well-received by many at UST. Your feedback on how managers perceive and support their teams is crucial, and we are committed to fostering an environment where individual potential is recognized and nurtured. Regarding your suggestion to revamp our internal web portals, we appreciate your input and will consider it as part of our ongoing improvements. In summary, we believe that UST has significant potential, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us grow and adapt to global best practices, especially in HR. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback.

Pros

The company is already shifting from services to products and platforms business, with the CEO driving the change directly. This transition is visible and is steep. The upside to this transformation is the company already creating meaningful opportunities for people to grow new skills and take on more strategic and value-added work. The key is to lean in and make full use of the resources available, including client universities, hack-a-thons, ideathons, and skill transformation programs, to stay ahead. For internal talent, the opportunities in product, platform development, and consulting are abundant, across both existing offerings and new solutions.

Cons

the organization is going through a painful transition unlike anything it has experienced in its 26-year history; while this change is necessary to win in the market, stronger support through the transition is an area where the company can improve and focus.

Enabling this kind of growth is a key priority for us, and we’re glad to see the impact of initiatives like learning programs, ideathons, and hackathons coming through. We also recognize that transitions can be challenging, and providing support through the journey remains a priority. Your point on staying grounded in UST’s values truly resonates.
