Surprisingly decent place to work. More emphasis on the work you do than how much you suck up. - Cashier Walmart Employee Review

Pros

More emphasis on your work than on your willingness to suck up to management. Promotion from within is very much a part of company culture, so most of your managers have had the experience of some psycho customer lying about them, and are more likely to believe what you have to say about the encounter.

Cons

On the front end there are a lot of psycho customers, the kind whose lives are pointless and so, as long as they're breathing they intend to try to make everyone around them as miserable as they are.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
