Long hours, low pay, expensive dress code while running around sweating. Washing cars, having a degree to get paid less than $3 more than a service agent. This sounds like such an amazing job when you are coming straight out of college. You do have benefits, but there is NO work life balance. My first 6 months I went to work, ate dinner and slept. I don't know how people with children do this. Management does not listen to employees and you are constantly selling to customers even if they really can't afford the product. High stress environment, lots of running around. Back end work hardly gets done because there are so many other tasks needing attention.

The work life balance is terrible! Before accepting my job offer from Enterprise I looked through many reviews on Glassdoor, a lot of them mention the long days at work. I hate so say it but they were right! I took a gamble and accepted the job. A day at Enterprise consisted of arriving at 7.30am and finishing when the job was done, which was usually no earlier than 7.30pm - you were lucky to get a 30 min break. You are actually entitled to 1 hour but not many people in management will tell you this as it then makes the working day longer if everyone takes 1hr for lunch, they like you to be done as quick as possible. There had been days in my short time at Enterprise where I had worked 14 hours with only a 10 minute break to grab a quick bite to eat, these were not one offs either, it would happen around once a week. The role is made out to be glamorous when in reality you are at the bottom of the management ladder, working 65hr weeks and getting paid peanuts. I worked out my hourly rate and it was around £6.70 an hour - I might as well be stacking shelves at Tesco! It doesn't end there, you are also expected to complete your own training file, concentrate on revision for skills tests, and analyse figures from sales reports in your own time. This job began to take over my life and it only took me 3 months to figure this out. I was told this job was 50hrs a week and that if you worked overtime you should be offered the time back. I have never worked a 50hr week and have never had the opportunity to get any time back. The company has such a high employee turnover which is why they are constantly recruiting, its not worth the hassle, there are plenty of jobs out there that are better than this. Not to mention you are pushed to sell customers products that they don't really need and at times I felt like I was scamming them - it's not unheard of to quote the customer double the price in a sneaky attempt to take their money for products they don't even know they have bought. The majority of employees at Enterprise are working their first full time job post University, therefore lack quite a lot of experience due to their age. Most people in rental are under 30 years old. I would't recommend this job to anyone I know..
