Pros

Insurance is the best you can get for part time work. Tuition Reimburstment (if you qualify), several different shifts throughout the day and night

Cons

The work is physically hard. If you dont watch and examine your check stubs closely they will cheat you out of vacation time during holidays even when you have earned holiday pay. They do not provide uniforms or protective goggles or face masks. I've been given one pair of gloves for the two years I have been employed there. The gloves they do give out will not last you more than 2 weeks. Management treats you like an incompetent child. Promotions are given based on a "who you know" bases and not by work performance. You are exposed to sickening amounts of dusts and diesel fumes and your insurance does not kick in until you have been working for them over 6 months. Employees basically have to threaten to sue the company before they give out workman's compensation for an injury you recieved on the job. Employees are not alotted any sick days and vacation time when you call in sick and all complaints are rudely directed to human resources. Fed Ex's main concern is profit not their employees. Unless you are on the corporate side you're no different from the boxes you handle!

Pros

Good starting pay for handlers. Full benefits for part time employees after six months. Opportunities for overtime and advancement were available. Tuition assistance for full time students.

Cons

Shifts are usually either very early in the morning or late at night. Job is very physical and involves working in both extreme cold and heat.
