Pros

Great benefits, great starting wages, free uniforms, travel discounts, discounted shipping.

Cons

Extremely tight time constraints, paper time cards, extremely heavy boxes that are held together by lots of tape and can fall apart easily. Boxes which break open and spill their contents all over the catwalk.

Pros

You learn what it's like to be part of a "team" and you work hard to do a good job for the customer. It seriously takes everybody doing what they are supposed to do to get the job done.

Cons

The hours. If you work at a Ramp or Hub location, the opportunities for Full time are few. The very nature of the job defines "part-time". And courriers can get chewed up and spit out. There is so much pressure around deadlines and efficiency. It's sort of like a good sports team, you play for the best, so they expect a lot from you.

Pros

Each day brings a challenging race against the clock and subsequently the day flys by. I also enjoy working outdoors and interacting with many people throughout the day, particulary regular customers that you can build a relationship with. It would be very dificult to work a desk job after FedEx.

Cons

The main downside is the pay. While I greatly enjoy the job, working at Fedex will forever doom you to a lower middle to middle class pay rate. Pay increases are very slow and there are instances where after a starting pay increase a new higher is making more then a two year employee. FedEx has a sweet deal going being non-unionized and able to pay its workers considerably less then its competition.
