Company in Major Transition

Pros

Great industry and company heritage. Company is staffed with very talented people who live for the prestige to do all they can to deliver great products and continue the legacy of a great American brand.

Cons

Company is transitioning from management that had passion for the brand and its legacy in an intimate industry, to capital investment firms capitalizing on financial returns as quickly as possible. There is little to no vision expressed to the work force from senior management, which leaves most employees "out of the loop" and with little to no connection to deliver their best efforts for the company. So many great, talented people are looking for a way out.

Pros

The organization really takes initiatives to develop and promote internal talent - I have been here for about three months and have already gained excellent insight to other areas of my career I have never been exposed to. I love the fun and casual work culture in addition to all of the employee events that go on and the ability to see performing artists in the atrium. The building is outstanding! One of a kind.

Cons

Sometimes there could be old habits that need breaking in order to get the company on board with changing times.

Fender Musical Instruments Response

Hi there! We are glad that you recognized our efforts to promote employees internally, and provide opportunities for professional and personal development among our Fender Family. This is something that Fender prides itself on; we love to see our employees grow! The casual environment DOES make Fender an appealing place to be. When you're here- it's casual Friday every day! Additionally, we love to provide chances for our employees to escape their desks, and embrace some of the more unique aspects of working for a rock 'n' roll lifestyle company, such as the guest artists performing in the atrium. (we are welcoming another band next Thursday!) Plus, our vibrantly decorated HQ facility (modeled after our visitors center in Corona, CA) keeps coming to work each day fresh. It always seems like there is new memorabilia being added around the building! We certainly agree that there are some areas we could continue to develop in further, in regard to coming to terms with the changing times. Currently, FMIC is focused on moving into a space that will help us maintain relevancy in the 21st century, and feel that greater strides are being made toward this under the leadership of our new CEO Andy Mooney. It is a fine balance; with this goal in mind, we must also strive to maintain a balance with our rich, respected history. Our movement is gradual, but it is happening. Thanks again, for your feedback! We are happy to have you in our Fender Family.
