Not the most competitive benefits or pay

Promotions given to those for all the wrong reasons (if your face fits etc) but for others who commit their blood, sweat and tears, tend to be overlooked and very undervalued or appreciated. Big American name, heavy decision making cascaded down from the US to business in UK and Europe (even down to HR/employment law related issues). Very questionable ethics. Limited work/life balance, always this feeling of being “switched on” 24/7 and very little in way of salary benchmarking relative to the amount of work piled on. Forget a pay rise, even of the most basic in line with government inflation unless you “toe the line” and are in with the right crowd.

There is a bit of a passion tax working here, as the pay is not incredibly good for specialized audio software work

Kept in a bubble work blindly

Definitely pays below market rate. Upper management constantly brags about how products we directly work on are outperforming sales, yet salaries stay pretty stagnant. A lot of mid-senior level engineers continue to leave for higher paying roles. No bonuses, profit sharing, stocks, etc.

Lack of upward mobility, pay is not too high but not too bad given low CoL in Phoenix, organizational systems sometimes primitive and obsolete but they're being updated over time
