Overall a Good Firm

Pros

friendly environment, mostly great people, always free food, management knows everyone & actively cares about people and their opinions, a lot of volunteer opportunities & extracurriculars If you make any effort at all to be involved and get to know the people in different departments you can become very involved and have a great network and overall work experience. People that complain and feel that not enough is done at Weiser have clearly not stepped up and taken initiative to get involved.

Cons

Subpar health insurance. A few people with defeatist attitudes try to bring everyone down, some in the tax dep. have the worst attitudes of all and there is a limit to what middle management can do. A few are astoundingly entitled and ungrateful and their negative outlook is more to blame than the company.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that your experience at WeiserMazars is positive and that you have built good relationships with your managers and co-workers. We also appreciate recognition of the many opportunities we provide for the staff to get involved in our many activities and agree that this really contributes to elevating job satisfaction. With regards to mentoring, we are constantly striving to improve the training and development of our team members at all levels; in fact, we recently appointed a Chief Learning Officer and Director of Talent Management to lead this effort. Also, our Partners and Senior Managers have been undergoing significant training on giving real-time feedback and helping every team member in their career development. Although we do not yet have a formal mentoring program, we will be evaluating our current performance management system and will identify where improvements can be made in due course.

Pros

decent salary, food often provided at office

Cons

NY office runs the show - other offices are treated second best, professional development is a joke, administration never returns phone calls, no clear personal growth plans communicated, awful technology, benefits are terrible, employees are evaluated on arbitrary black and white criteria such as utilization % which is out of control of many employees rather than firm contributions, culture is sterile and cold
