Pros

Direct Team and Line Manager friendly, helpful, good with training and lovely to work with. Free parking permits and modern office.

Cons

Very Discriminative - 1 rule for grads and another for everyone else in the firm. Unprofessional environment - swearing, sexual remarks etc overheard on a daily basis. Political Senior management and Partners who have no clear strategic direction. Pointless having lots of directors who have no say over the partners decisions. Very face fits culture. Poor pay. Rubbish benefits and holiday allowance. Huge gap between the lower level employees and senior management in terms of benefits/promotions etc. Salary review system not fair and consistent across the board. Over run with youngsters who doss around all day and clearly only work there because of pushy parents who want them to follow in their footsteps.

Pros

Great people, good pay. Plenty of knowledgeable people to learn from. Room to grow and many different accounting specialties to choose from.

Cons

Hours can be rough. Management style can be coarse at times. Too many managers work part time in summer, putting strain on staff to complete deliverables.

SO happy you are having a good experience. There is a great deal of opportunity given to our experienced staff early on to learn and grow. The hours during busy season are going to be longer, but we try to make the experience as positive as possible, with food, get togethers, and stress-breakers. Our new Director of Educational Development is streamlining the first year staff training and I think you will hear great feedback from our entry level staff. Management appreciates your concerns about summer hours but all staff should be accessible, even when working remotely.
