-Lots of politics. If you're not "friends" with the right people you won't get the projects you want to work on. -No sense of teamwork as everyone is fending for themselves - the scarcity mentality (this was really toxic for me) -Company culture is smoke and mirrors. One will immediately identify this once you've worked here long enough (I look for work that is more than just a paycheck) -Even though they promote "work life balance" there's a lot of unpaid overtime which is an unspoken expectation. Management is obsessed with meeting their financial targets.

Highly marketing driven - live and die by the PowerPoint. Technical thought is back seat and often relegated, though unintentionally, to damage control. Company is too big to know what other departments are doing. Senior management could be perceived as a group of adult children, incapable of being wrong. Decisions made at the top often come down hardest on project managers, leading to burnout and turnover. Promises of working in different sectors and in different capacities are empty or at best, honored out of convenience. If you want in on a certain type of work, get in writing upon employment, and keep it on the table during reviews.
