Pros

Its a place where you can meet skilled people and also have contact with international companies, also with other technologies.

Cons

Globant has a *huge* marketing behind, work with "cool" people and "smart" they tout themselves as the Argentinian Google. The problem comes on the salaries, they are way under the market average, but they offer you to play with a PS, climbing wall, etc, all these things intended to not seeing the real face of Globant, there's is no career progression there, unless you want to be Project Manager, that's all you can aspire there. Overtime is *not* paid. However I'm glad they have corrected some vices, related to migration issues. First impression in Globant is to be a nice company, but after you spend some months there you see some other facts.

Pros

As consultant company they used to have excellent clients to work for (Google, GAP, LinkedIn, etc.), so people willing to immigrate to U.S from Latin America (Argentina and Mexico) , had a good opportunity to approach to this kind of big companies. Benefits to employees used to be exceptional having in consideration that their clients paid for them. At the pinnacle of their growth, employees enjoyed rental cars, paid housing and a decent salary, compared with any other salary in Argentina or Mexico. Management was reliable since most of the expenses were covered by their customer, so if you asked for a raise or a better benefit, you mostly end up getting it.

Cons

Almost everything was fine until one of their largest clients changed the rules, no more travel expenses for the employees of Globant and payment rates according to the market, so Globant had to cut benefits to their employees and things went wrong. Career opportunities don't exist here, you are hired to fit on a required position within one of their clients, once the project is finished you are not needed anymore, unless a new client requires a person with the same skills as yours. It's important to mention that most people are introduced to the clients as experts. Any tool, language or skill you may have worked/studied, you are sold as an expert on it; so expectations from costumers are very high and you may end up screwing up your career. Management communication is imprecise, they abuse of lies to gain time before things turn really bad. There are many examples of this, but most of them are related to benefits; for instance plane tickets are purchased one or two days before the trip, this happens because they get the employees to give up their vacation plans and save money to the company. Negotiations are not fair, so people that threat on resigning get more benefits, but officially everyone is treated with respect and professionalism. Another example of this topic is people that were assigned to projects where your skills or experience don't fit, so you don't cover client expectations and your performance is not assessed correctly. Management will say in the meantime that a new project is available for you in no time and when you lay off is ready the truth will be revealed. Feedback from management does not exist, you work for a client and your feedback is evaluated according to benefits you ask for, the less benefits you have, the better employer you are. No respect for personal life, you are a good employee while you can put hours on the records used to invoice their customers. This is just a quick summary of my experience with this company, no need to talk about undergone situations while working with them.
