Pros

Possibilities to move laterally .

Cons

Retaliation is very current; but they have a cleaver way of blaming it on performance. Working schedules are typically long and the pay scale is no better than the competitors. Management is consistently pushing more projects on you without taking into account your needs. People will lie to get ahead. Very toxic environment.

Pros

Overall as a whole the company itself is great. The salary and perks are amazing. Couldn't ask for anything more in that area but....

Cons

The peoplele in the IBD department are for the most part spoiled Prima Donna's. Everyone is SOOOO passive aggressive and expects you to read their minds. The MD I worked with was truly this case as well as one of my Associates. No one minds working and doing their job but sometimes you have to do something for yourself and they can't do anything. As an assistant I realize that you are supposed to make things happen but sometime you have to ask questions and when you do, you get looks like your an idiot. The passive aggressive, I'm better than you, I can't do anything for myself behavior is REAL!! People you work with everyday will walk right past you and not say a word but will speak when they need something from you. The owners family member was more personable and he had more reason to be rude and obnoxious than the others, not that, that is acceptable but he does. the culture they strive so much to have needs a lot of work. I did have great people in my group my bankers not so much.

Pros

Competitive Bonus/Salary Package Good Benefits (Health Insurance / Dental) Good amount of vacation time given (can only roll over 10 days year)

Cons

Unrealistic hours - 70 -80 hours a week (depending on role/division) Operations = less hours than revenue producing divisions (IMD/IBD) Overtime is HALFTIME, not time and a half (like most other companies) No travel opportunities unless you are fairly senior VP/MD This company is EXTREMELY CHEAP, no employee appreciation activities or events
