Pros

No reasons in fact, name and branding i think

Cons

no strategy and no people management skills with all the power held by 2-3 people. This leads to a chaotic environment with no direction, resulting in no productivity.Bullying, yelling, emotional abuse are quite common. Lot of unhappy people work here who make life miserable for others as well.Emotinally immature/abusive people in top management contribute to this behavior.Management is useless and they are all doing lots of corruption.

Pros

- Colleagues are very driven by the mission - Very good benefits, including a lot of paid time-off, 6% match on 401(k), stipend for biking to work, good medical/dental, etc. - Opportunity for travel, unique projects, developing many different skills - Work-life balance for most positions

Cons

- Weak leadership at uppermost tier, which has a serious trickle-down effect; inconsistent communication about decisions, plans, etc., being in a constant state of "in the now" rather than looking ahead - Several Operations/Administrative teams are barely limping along, which means that internal processes are very slow, poorly communicated, and unnecessarily frustrating/confusing for staff - For positions with poor work-life balance, it's totally out of whack and they are way overworked

Pros

Easy to get the job Decent pay and benefits Atmosphere is usually pretty upbeat

Cons

The more bought into the cause you are the more they will abuse you and the more painful this job will be. You don't matter to the org. The people around you will make you feel like you are a hero, but when push comes to shove, if your numbers are not up to par one month they will drop you like a brick. The phrase in the office we used was "Eat or Die" The statistics that determine whether you are dropped like a brick are inaccurate and favor short sighted tactics which ironic for an organization that claims to be fighting for sustainability. Lies of omission are not frowned upon. They don't care about the accuracy of the message, only the money raised. The org claims to fight horrible corporate practices and negligence that favors the bottom line, while perpetrating the exact same on it's own employees. They claim that they stand for social justice, yet when it is statistically obvious that minorities experience more discrimination and have a more difficult time fundraising, they quietly let them get fired rather than acknowledge the problem.
